We are thrilled to announce the new Klarna Card, now better than ever before! Just like the old card, Klarna Card is a digital and physical payment card which brings Klarna’s smoooth, sustainable payment and credit options to anywhere that accepts Visa, and there are still no fees for using it abroad. However, we have also added a ton of great features based on your feedback over the past 12 months:

Simpler management.

All your purchases are consolidated into a single monthly statement, providing a clear overview of your spending, allowing you to pay with just a tap once a month. And the best part? The statement is adjustable, so for each purchase, you can choose to pay straight away, pay on your monthly statement date, or extend your due date on purchases between £15-£300 for an additional fee.

More control.

You can check your ‘Purchase Power’ in the app and even manually decrease it to help you manage your budget more effectively. Additionally, the new ‘Autopay’ feature and multiple notifications help you keep on top of your payment due dates.

More protection.

We have changed the configuration of the card so that now you can enjoy full legal protection for your purchases (‘section 75’ protection) and access to the financial ombudsman service if things don’t go to plan, on top of the chargeback protection already offered.

Smoother shopping.

The card is fully integrated with our shopping app, so you can find what you want with Klarna’s price comparison tool and buy it in a few taps without needing to add card details or activate a shopping card in the checkout. Once purchased, you can change the payment method and track your spending in the Money hub.

So how much does it cost?

There is a flat fee of £2.99 per month with no yearly commitment – you can cancel at any time.

Representative Example: rate of interest – 0.0% a year (variable), annual fees – £35.88, assumed credit limit – £800, representative APR 4.6% (variable).

Virtual card.

You will get a new virtual card that can be added to your digital wallet in minutes and used anywhere, so you can start reaping the benefits of Klarna straight away after sign-up, and order a free physical card at a later date so you have more options to pay online, in-store, and abroad.

How do you get it?

We are gradually rolling out the new Klarna Card to eligible users, keep an eye on your app to see when you can sign up.

Klarna Card is subject to eligibility. That means that we evaluate several criteria before offering the card. Users need to:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Be a UK resident

  • Have purchased with Klarna at least once and repaid it on time

  • Pass the credit assessment, based on internal and external credit checks
