22 August 2018 – Klarna is pleased to announce the appointment of Jani Tyyni as General Manager for Finland, and Jacob Segercrantz as Director of Sales for Finland. These new additions to the regional leadership team will overall strengthen the team and provide important expertise when continuing to accelerate market growth.
Jani Tyyni has almost 20 years of experience from the tech industry and joins Klarna from Nebula Oy, where he was CEO. Before that he held positions as COO and Business Unit Director for the same company.
“I am very impressed by Klarna’s development and look forward to leading the team to strengthen our market position and growth on the Finnish market even further. I truly believe in Klarna’s mission to change the banking industry by creating better payment and banking services focusing on the customer. I am very excited about joining Klarna and to be part of a culture that aim to create something truly remarkable.” says Jani Tyyni.
Jacob Segercrantz joined Klarna from Danske Bank where he was Senior Partnering Manager and prior to that was the Head of Sales at Maksuturva Group. Jacob has previously served as Vice Chairman on the board of Verkkoteollisuus ry (eCommerce Finland).
“Working within payments and the financial sector for over a decade has given me a pretty good understanding of which companies are winners and which are not. Klarna is continuously striving to reduce friction within payments and it’s tireless effort to always improve the customer experience makes it a super exciting company to be a part of. In other words, joining Klarna was a no-brainer for me, and I look forward to help increase the pace on the Finnish market by focusing on strengthening the organisation and increasing brand awareness among consumers.” says Jacob Segercrantz.
In Finland, Klarna provides payment solutions for both online and physical stores. Klarna’s instore solution enables merchants to offer their consumers the same payment experience in the physical store as when online. Klarna’s services remove friction associated with the checkout process and deliver consistently improved conversion rates as well as increased average order value for merchants. Today, merchants such as Asos, Adidas, Zara, SAS, Spotify, XXL and Adlibris use Klarna.
“We warmly welcome Jani and Jacob to Klarna. With their respective backgrounds and expertise, we now have a strong team in place which will further accelerate our growth, and strengthen our position in Finland. We see so much opportunity in offering smooth payment services online and instore, and we look forward to increasing our customer base, welcoming new merchant partners, and bringing customer centric services to the Finnish market to help people take control over their personal finances.” says Michael Rouse, Chief Commercial Officer of Klarna.
