Questions?

Questions on how to use In-store and how to get going? Find your answers below. For any further help or trouble-shooting, please contact customer service.

In stores that offer our digital card solution you need to have the Klarna app in order to pay. In stores that offer our QR code solution you don't need to have the app to pay, you can scan the QR code with your phone's camera and complete the purchase on your mobile browser. However, we still recommend that you use the app in order to have the smooothest user experience and to help keep track of your payments.

To find your store, go to the Wallet tab and click on "Pay In-store". From here you can find your store using the map, the search bar or by scrolling the list of merchants. Once you've found the store you will be instructed on how to pay in that store.

In stores that have our Digital card solution you can use Pay in 3*. In stores that use our QR code or SMS solution you will be able to choose between all of Klarna's payment options.

The in-store digital card is a single-use, virtual card that is created within the Klarna app. To create the card you first need to set a limit for the card (anywhere between £30-£2000). Regardless of what limit you set you only get charged for what you end up spending. Once you've set your limit for the card, you can then add it to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet, and make your purchase by using “tap to pay” at the point of sale terminal. The card is valid for 24 hours after creation.

In stores that use our QR code solution you simply have to scan the QR code using either the scanner in the Klarna app or your phone's camera. If you have the Klarna app, you will then be directed to choose a payment option and confirm the purchase in the app. If you don't have the app you will carry out the same steps in your phones browser instead.

Yes, before you can complete your payment you need to add a "funding source". This can be a debit or credit card. When selecting or adding a payment card, ensure it has at least 33% of your order amount available.

Klarna accepts most major debit and credit cards (i.e. Mastercard, Visa, Discover). However, prepaid cards, AMEX, and Capital One credit cards are not accepted.

All payments are automatically withdrawn according to the payment plan. You can view your payment plan, pay early and change your connected debit or credit card at any time in the app.

For purchases made in-store, please bring your merchandise and receipt to the store and tell the store associate you used Klarna. Return policies may vary by retailer.

If you would like to pause your Klarna payments when planning a refund, log into your Klarna account, select “report a return”.
